PERCH + ARCADIA
COMMUNITY SOLAR ☀️

A community-solar program designed to make clean energy more accessible while allowing eligible customers to participate without installing solar panels on their own property or changing their existing utility or electric provider.

THE BIG IDEA 🌱
Customers are matched with a share of a local community solar project. The project sends clean power to the electric grid, and eligible participants receive discounted solar credits connected to the energy their solar share produces.
HOW IT WORKS

Community solar made simple.

  • Perch adds an eligible customer to a solar project in their community.
  • The solar project generates clean power and sends it to the electric grid.
  • The customer's participation can earn state-enabled community-solar credits that discount eligible electricity costs.
  • The customer keeps their existing utility/electric provider and receives energy the same way as before.
WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT

From application to savings.

1
Application review

Perch reviews the customer's application and eligibility and provides enrollment-status updates.

2
Get matched with a solar share

Electricity usage is analyzed to help secure a spot in an available local solar project.

3
Start saving

Once the assigned project begins producing energy, eligible discounted solar credits can begin appearing according to the applicable billing setup.

WHY COMMUNITY SOLAR?

People. Community. Planet.

Perch's materials describe three major benefits:

  • Support clean-energy generation in the customer's state.
  • Potentially lower eligible electricity costs through discounted solar credits.
  • Support local solar development, which can contribute to clean-energy jobs and investment in communities.

Exact savings vary based on energy usage, project production, market rules, subscription details and eligibility.

PERCH + ARCADIA

A larger community-solar platform.

The customer materials say Perch and Arcadia's community-solar businesses have come together, combining their reach across community-solar projects.

$90M+Total discounts reported in the supplied Perch + Arcadia customer materials.
9B kWh+Electricity reported as produced by Perch- and Arcadia-managed solar projects.

The materials also state more than 3 GW of solar capacity across roughly 1,000 projects in 16 states. These figures come from the current campaign materials supplied to Forever 40 and may change over time.

ILLINOIS BILLING

Utility Crediting & Billing (UCB).

Utility Crediting & Billing (UCB)

The customer continues paying the utility bill; eligible solar credits and the applicable discount can appear on that bill after the solar project becomes active.

ILLINOIS QUALIFICATIONS

One qualifying program is required.

For the Perch + Arcadia Community Solar campaign in Illinois, the customer must meet the current campaign requirements and have qualifying documentation for at least one approved LMI program shown in the enrollment system:

  • Medicaid
  • Food Stamps / EBT (SNAP)
  • Section 8 Housing Voucher / Letter
  • LIHEAP
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Lifeline / USAC

Additional Perch + Arcadia requirements

  • Customer must be 18 years or older.
  • Electric bill must be $300 or less.
  • Illinois enrollments use Utility Crediting & Billing (UCB).
  • Customers currently enrolled in CEDA assistance or PIP/PIPP do not qualify under the current Perch + Arcadia campaign requirements.

Qualification is subject to current Perch + Arcadia enrollment-system requirements, documentation, project availability, utility territory and campaign rules.

FOREVER 40 STANDARD

Explain it clearly.

  • Community solar is not the same as installing panels on the customer's roof.
  • Do not tell customers their utility is being replaced.
  • Explain when credits begin: after enrollment, eligibility, project matching and project activation requirements are satisfied.
  • Never guarantee a specific savings amount unless it is explicitly supported by the customer's current approved offer.
  • Use the current Perch + Arcadia campaign materials, disclosures and approved enrollment process.

CLEAN ENERGY. COMMUNITY IMPACT. ☀️

Community solar gives eligible customers another way to participate in clean energy without needing their own rooftop solar system.

Program availability, project matching, billing method, credit values, savings and eligibility vary by market and customer. Always use current approved Perch + Arcadia materials and applicable program terms.
